AVIA Moonrise is an application that presents an accurate moon phase and the official sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset times for any place on Earth and for any date between Jan 1,1900 and Dec 31, 2099.

The application instantly shows the appearance and events for your iPhones current location, and you can quickly check any location in the world using the map view. Perfect for fishing or hunting trips, or astronomers and astrologers.

The calculations for events are accurate to a few minutes of the US Naval Observatory sun and moon calendars, and it doesnt rely on large astronomical data updates, nor on-line sites. In fact, it never accesses the Internet! This avoids any roaming charges from your operator. If you use the map function, you naturally need to have internet access.

Special Features:
- informative, at-a-glance views with crisp graphics
- reports if the Sun or the Moon never sets or rises at a location on a certain day
- accounts for Daylight Saving Time for use in any country and any date
- map view supports planning trips ahead to "on-the-hour" timezones sharing the phone locations Daylight Saving Time
- all algorithms have been updated to include the latest modifications, and verified against the US Naval Observatory and major astronomy sites.

AVIA Moonrise is quick, easy to use, and universal!

Pros and cons of Moonrise app for iPhone and iPad

Moonrise app good for

Thanks for this app. I will use it for take photos moon and stars. Also it is giving sun set and rise times. And you can see in calender which date how it shining.
Clear, simple display. Shows moons phases as percentages and descriptions (ex. "Waning crescent, 6%), plus Moonrise, moonset, sunrise, and sunset times, all on one screen. Easy interface to select another date or another location. Date can be selected with arrow buttons or with YYYY-MM-DD rollers/sliders. Tapping the date display once reverts to todays date. Turning the phone horizontally into landscape mode automatically shows the date and rise/set times for the next full moon, which is a nice touch. Pretty moon and sun imagery also.

Some bad moments

App sieht toll aus und übersichtlich, genau was ich suchte. Leider stimmen aber die Zeiten nicht. Die heutige Monduntergangszeit war leider um 49 Minuten daneben. Auf die Angaben kann ich mich leider nicht verlassen. Was soll dann das ganze? App looks nice and useful. Unfortunately are the time shown not correct. The todays moon set time was 49 minutes off the time other applications are showing, which seems much more accurate. I can not rely on the times given here. So what is the use of it?
Seems pretty accurate but when you ask it to pin your current position it crashes.
Earlier versions provided moon and sunrise/set but no longer. Just tells you the percentage of moon you will see. Its worth what you pay for it-nothing.
Does not have moon rising and setting times and you cannot set your location. Basically a worthless app.
Id give it five stars if it told the percentage lit. Also a "today" button would be nice.
Good basic app. Gives both sun and moon rise and set times. Integrate tides and it will be perfect!
